Easily accessible trails and campgrounds literally surround the historic communities of the Prescott area. Biologists with the Prescott National Forest have been tracking wintering bald eagles at Lynx Lake, as well as Goldwater, Watson, and Willow Lakes for the past 10 years. These cool clear lakes are perfect for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and picnicking. Lynx Lake and Goldwater Lake have a walking trail around the perimeter. Kayaks can be rented at Lynx Lake and Watson Lake. Granite Basin Lake is nestled among the pines in the Granite Mountain Wilderness area of the Prescott National Forest. In addition to picnicking and boating, the lake makes a great staging area for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
